Well compromising with your taste buds is no longer needed if you prepare your food wisely with right ingredients taking care of calories and fats components. We must exercise enough to be able to digest food glucose.
While dieting we must take mini meals instead of 2 /3 big meals. Mini meals or snacking is not going to add weight if you take care of calories intake properly. While dieting we crave for munching and healthy bhel is one of my favourite to end up with.
Bhel is a famous snack item. In childhood I had witnessed roadside bhaiyas in UP selling those chatpati very spicy laiya bhel with lots of chopped onions and peanuts in it. But bhel is not confined to any single state, its famous all over india and varities of bhel preparations are there. Some include black chickpeas , boiled potatoes or even green sukhe hard matars. Different combinations one will get if try to find out and not all are unhealthy. You may make different combo if you dont like mine.
Keeping health in view and chosing ingredients wisely here is one of my healthy crunchy bhel _ light to eat yet filling. Weight watchers would love it. Very easy to make , ready in a jiff.
No tadka or salt added as we have tossed everything with chutneys which already has the seasoning. If green chutney, red imli chutneys are readily available then this is hardly a min recipe. Gets ready in no time.
Mix all ingredients below in a big bowl with hands or spatula.
3 _4 cups Kurmure (rice puffs or crunchy laiyas)
1 cup Sev (murmure) or can use alu bhujjiya too
1/2 cup Roasted skinless peanuts
1/4 cup Roasted chana dal
1/4 cup Boiled corn kennels little (optional)
1 Onion chopped
1 Tomato chopped (optional , I dont like so skipped)
Green mint chutney 3_4 tbsp
Imly ki khatti meethi teekhi chutney 2 tbsp
Few crushed baked mathri or papdi
Boiled potatoes chunks (optional) 1/2 cup
Chopped green fresh coriander leaves 1/2 cup
Green chillies as per taste
Cornflakes little. Bit crushed with fingers. 1/4 cup
Here's its ready , all time involved was arranging and collecting the ingredients. No cooking involved.
In case you dont have green and red chutneys you may add black pepper, red chilly and lemon juice a little. And a tangy bhel is ready. But I like chutney wali bhel more.
