Navratri special Kanjake prasad

Kanjak festival is a popular occassion in North India of ashtami or navmi festival.Little girls are been worshipped as goddess durga avtar and given gifts alongwith prasad.

Navmi prasad is been made on ninth and last day of navratri. Today it was navmi and like always I made prasad. Everyone in my home loves it _ puri, sukhe kale chane n suji ka halwa. 😆 Feasting on this day is such a treat.




Recipe of sukhe kale chane

Boil 500 grams of black chane (small ones).
Drain excess water.
In a kadhayi add oil. When hot add rai, jeera 1tsp each, few kari pattas n hing pinch.
Add red chilly powder, dhaniya powder, salt as per taste.
Saute on sim for sumtime. Switch off the gas. Sprinkle chopped green coriander leaves n green chilles chopped as you may like.

Recipe for suji ka Halwa

In a kadhayi add ghee 1/2 cup. When hot add 1 cup suji and roast till nice aroma comes and its little brown or changes colour.
Meanwhile in a seperate pan bring 3 cups of water to boil. Add 3 cardomom 's powder n 3/4 cup sugar to it. When dissolved add this slowly to suji roasted.keep on slow flame and keep sauting until it gets absorbed completely and be careful not to make lumps. add pre fried nuts _ almonds, kaju and kishmish. When it becomes little dry halwa is ready.
