Upma is a very popular and easy to make South Indian dish. It has fabulous taste and fresh vegetables makes it more healthier.Going with my oats fever I made upma one day which turned out so delicious that i dnt miss regular suji upma anymore.
It is a power house of vitamins, proteins, minerals, amino acids, and essential fatty acids and if you are not having it then you are surely missing out on a tasty way to good health.
1 cup oats ( I keep ready to use pre roasted 2 mins n stored)
3 cups water ( warm water is always handy to me)
Salt to taste
Red chlly pwdr
Red chilly whole dry 1
1 tsp chana dal
1 tsp urad dal
Kri patta few
Rai 1 tsp
In a pan give tadka of rai n kari patta, dry red chlly chan dal n urad dal in 1 tsp oil when hot.
Add oats ( if u dnt hv roasted oats, roast it now for 2 mins). Add salt n red chlly pwdr.
Add water n cook covered for 2 mins.
Uncover pan n mix with a spatula and check how thick u wnt the upma. Add water little if u want soupy type. Else its ready to eat !!
