Dalia / broken wheat or cracked wheat is definitely a treat for anyone who needs a diet rich in fibre and nutrition.
1/2 cup Daliya (Broken Wheat ) – roasted
1 carrot – finely chopped
1/4 cup finely chopped beans
1/4 cup chopped capsicum
1/4 cup corns
1 chopped onion
1 tbsp finely chopped green chili
1/4 tsp jeera
Turmeric pinch (optional)
salt to taste
2 tsp oil
Red chilly powder
1 tbsp chopped coriander
Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan or kadhai. Temper jeera and add chopped onions and green chilies. Saute a while.
Add chopped vegetables and Cook for 2 mins on low flame. Add roasted daliya. Saute for about 5 mins.
Add salt, red chilly powder and turmeric.mix.
Add water and cook covered till done. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot.
You can also pressure cook daliya along with other ingredients for 2-3 whistles. Adjust the amount of water and cook it.
